A few things make the difference – where you took the test (which company/collection agency) and if the employer uses e-screen (where the results get posted electronically) or other methods. E-screening is typically done within about 24 hours. Any other method usually takes about 2-3 days. I’d call your employer to let them know that you did take it since a lot of employers only give you a specific time-frame to take the test (so that the candidate doesn’t wear off the drugs they may have used before going to take the test). This way they know you’re on top of things. And then during the conversation you can ask them directly how long it generally takes them to get the results.
