How long to take out an injunction?
I’m assuming you are in the UK and the injunction is for Domestic violence or Harassment. You can get an injunction from the court and serve it on someone within a few hours. If it is an emergency then after your solicitors have prepared the paperwork you’d go to court with them and submit the relevant forms and an Affidavit along with the fee. there would then be a hearing in the absence of the other party before a county court judge who would decide one way or the other. If you are granted the injunction you would call a local enquiry agent (these guys are usually situated close to the courts or they can have someone there surprisingly quickly). You would then wait for the court staff to type up the order and “seal” (stamp) the paper work. You would then hand this over to the enquiry agent along with the address for the person it needs to be served on along with his description or a photograph (although this is not necessary).
