How long till there’s a Happy “Halloween”?
Oh but what pain there is for me about the new Rob Zombie remake of the 1978 John Carpenter classic “Halloween”. As some might know Rob Zombie is writing and directing this film which is (apparently) going to be a total friggen remake and not just another sequel. But I don’t care! What we really need is we need to see John Carpenter come back to the fold. If Wes Craven can go crawling back to the horror well to bring us “New Nightmare” in 1994 then Carpenter can certainly get off his butt and bring us a proper “Halloween” film. It doesn’t even have to be a re-make but just a really original sequel to this wildly successful series. The current remake is still stuck in a sort of pre-production Hell and that’s an excellent thing. Unless Carpenter returns I (and maybe it’s just me) would be glad to see yet another “Halloween” never hit the big screen or even the 99 cent DVD bin down at WalMart. Die Rob Zombie Die!
