Hysterectomy is removal of uterus. It can be partial or complete. Recovery time can be 6-8 weeks but in some individual cases, it can take more time. Swelling and vaginal bleeding is common after the procedure and can take few days to recover. It can take 4 weeks to get rid of this swelling but in some ladies, eight weeks are required. During the recovery time, take complete rest up to 6-8 weeks, don’t lift any heavy objects, continue coughing and deep breathing exercises, Avoid constipation, Eat fruits, vegetables, Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water in a day and climb stairs slowly. You can resume your sexual activities after 6 weeks.
