Whethet it’s a cartridge, sand or de filter, it should coordinate with the pool pump. Running the system 24 hours will give you high electicity bills. I recommend running the filter together with the pump 6 hours a day depending on how frequent the swimming pool is used.

Well that all depends on the size of your pool, and if you are having problems with it, some people run there’s 24 hours a day during the summer others run there’s only when they are using it or 8 hours a day, contact your pool manufacterer for there sujestions on your pool.
