The museums close around 6 to 8, and I would plan something smaller if it is on a Sunday because they close sooner. The bigger museums like the Metropolitan and Museum of Modern Art Should be given more time to see. The Policeman, Skyscraper, and Madame Tussauds are not as big or have as many exhibits since they are based on one thing. If you like a certain thing more, like science or animals, then visit the museums with those and spend more time there. You probably wont have any trouble with travel as long as you stay in a place that is located between your interests of the museums. One place a day is a nice idea, but try to squeeze in more than one small place in a day. It will take about a week, give or take a day or two because there are many other nice places to see in NYC, like the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Downtown and around Times Square and Central Park if you would like to see them.
