As a general rule pads made with soft organic particles have a short life-span but wear the rotors the least. Freo-carbon and ceramic pads are the cleanest, last the longest with the next to least wear done to the brake rotors. Semi-metallic and full metallic pads stop well but are dirty and chew – up the friction surfaces of brake rotors. Some deficiency in your brake system may have caused the brake calipers to stick, which would wear the pads prematurely. Water in your brake fluid (very common) causes rust and corrosion inside the master cylinder, lines and calipers which causes them to stick. Dirty or worn caliper slider pins cause uneven pad wear.
