How long must child support be paid and how does child care cost get factored in?

0

Child support is generally ordered until the child reaches the age of 18 and until they graduate high school. If for instance, they don’t graduate high school until they’re 19 and they live at home full time then the parent that is receiving child support will continue to receive child support until that child has turned 19 and graduated high school. Now, child care will continue as long as the child support orders are in affect and the child care costs are called Child Support Add-ons. Child Support Add-ons would be one half of unpaid medical, also if the child needs to be in day care or have some after school activity that is necessary for that child. Those will continue on as long as the child needs them.
