How long is the workday of a typical route?
There is no “typical” workday. Your customer’s requirements are the deciding factor as it differs. With most the Direct Store Delivery customers, they require deliveries on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. As such, we will fill your orders and have product available for pick up on these days. Each I/O has different work hours depending on their own efficiency and the distance from their Sales Area to their home and the agreed upon Depot, customer types, service windows, sales volume, and the number of customer stops. Sara Lee Bakery Group I/O’s generally start their workday at their Depots very early; i.e., 2:00-4:00 am, in order to meet their customers’ requirements for service.
