How long is the usual school day?
It’s not that long. The school day ‘starts’ at 8:15, but really you should probably try to get there around 8:10, so you put away your stuff and change into slippers and so on. It ‘ends’ at 3:30, although the meeting is usually over before, and you are usually free to go around 3:25. However, a lot of kids stay after school for tutoring and study hall. You HAVE to be gone from school by a quarter to 5:00.
