Dr.Aslani: Normally from iliac spine to iliac spine. In lay man´s terms, I would say imagine a cesarean scar with equivalent extensions to each side. In fair skinned individuals I expect very favourable scarring which patients very rarely object, although I do minor scar revisions in about 5-10% of cases, normally about one year after surgery as an office procedure. I always encourage patients to wait at least that amount of time after abdominoplasty/tummy tuck before thinking about a touch-up of the scar, since scars tend to develop very favourably with time and the difference in the aspect of the scar changes dramatically within the first 12 months.
