How long is the recovery period following LASIK surgery?

0

Following LASIK eye surgery at our Michigan facility, patients can generally plan to return to work and other activities within a couple of days. Patients are usually able to safely drive on their own the day after their surgery. We recommend that patients not engage in activities such as yard work, which would potentially bring contaminants into contact with their eyes, for one week following surgery. In addition, contact sports and strenuous exercise should be avoided for one to two weeks, and swimming, saunas, and hot tubs should be avoided for about three weeks.
