How long is the recovery from rotator cuff repair surgery?
Dr. McFadden will most likely keep a patient who had shoulder arthroscopy to repair the rotator cuff in a sling for one month from the date of surgery. After one to two weeks, physical therapy begins. After four to six weeks more active lifting can begin. Physical therapy becomes more intense as time goes on, in an effort to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles. Complete recovery usually requires at least four to six months.
