How long is the fingerprint code valid?
After registration you will receive from CIR the complete registered idea file including the original idea document, the CIR idea certificate and the official timestamped fingreprint file. CIR stores your registered idea file for 5 years, meaning that your proof of date and content do not expire for 5 years. You can renew the registration period with another 5 years over and over again for a small fee. The user will always be able to reproduce the fingerprint via the CIR computer on the original idea document so long as they keep the idea document in an unchanged condition on their system. This is why CIR provides an idea back-up service as well, so that the original idea file is safeguarded and can always be retrieved.
