Once you pass the written test, pay the fee, and receive the learner’s permit, it is valid for 6 months. After that time, you will be eligible to take the road test and receive the official Delaware CDL. The learner’s permit can be extended another six months for a $2 fee, if you feel you need more time to prepare for the CDL driving test.
