How long is the average wait for appointments at CAPS? How are student appointments, especially students with urgent clinical needs, triaged to ensure appropriate care in short periods of time?
During busy seasons, a student may wait up to two weeks for a full assessment appointment. However, CAPS maintains daily hours for urgent and emergent care, and students in crisis are seen immediately. In situations when deans and faculty call CAPS to consult regarding a student in need, they are encouraged to walk the student over to CAPS and a clinician will be waiting to assess the student. All students with sever or urgent needs are immediately triaged in-house to develop an immediate plan for safety up to and including hospitalization.
