The classroom portion of recruit training is six months in duration. If successful, officers are then partnered with a Field Training Officer for 12 weeks. During all of this training, officers receive 5th class constable pay rate.

The classroom portion of recruit training is five months in duration. If successful, officers are then partnered with a Field Training Officer for 12 weeks. Newly hired constables serve a probationary period of 18 months from the begining of their recruit training class. During all of this training, officers receive 5th class constable pay rate.
