How long is my American Red Cross certification valid?
• CPR/AED certification is valid for one year from the completion of the class. • CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider & Professional Rescuer is valid for 2 years from the completion of the class • CPR/AED for Lifeguards is valid for 1 year from the completion of the class. • First Aid certification is valid for three years from the completion of the class. • Lifeguarding certification is valid for three years from the completion of the class. For most courses, you can enroll in a review course to renew certification. Review courses consist of a review of the printed materials and skills presented in the program, followed by a written exam and skills demonstration. To participate in a review course, your American Red Cross certificate must not have expired any longer than twelve months prior to the date of the class.
