A. At the 1958 convention of the Soroptimist Federation of the Americas (now SIA), permission was granted to individual Soroptimist clubs to charter “S” Clubs. The first “S” Club was chartered in North Shores, California, in 1958. In July 1966, the convention body officially approved the sponsorship of “S” Clubs.
