How long have 3M™ Colorquartz™ Crystals been in existence?
For over 75 years, 3M has been coloring granules for use in asphalt shingle manufacturing, mastering the technology of coloring rock granules, while assuring a durable coating and lasting color. This technology was easily transferred 40 years ago to the coloring of quartz crystals. Its first use was in seamless flooring systems. Pool builders began using Colorquartz Crystals in pool surfaces in 1988.
