Due to the outbreak of the swine flu, the University Interscholastic League has suspended all UIL activities until May 11, including some upcoming competitions in athletics, fine arts and academics. This is a state decision, not a decision of local school districts. “We will adhere to the official decision of the University Interscholastic League. Our coaches and sponsors are communicating with every student affected by this decision,” stated a press release from Dr. Robin Battershell, Temple ISD superintendent. “As soon as we have further information about adjusted schedules, we will pass that along to students and families.” The UIL Academic State Meet, originally scheduled for May 7-9, will be rescheduled at a later date.
