How long has the Tocqueville Society been in existence?
Since 1984, Tocqueville Societies have been incorporated in more than 350 United Way organizations across the country. Named for French philosopher Alexis de Tocqueville, the Society represents United Way’s highest level of recognition for our investors’ generosity and commitment to making an impact in the community. The United Way of Broward County Tocqueville Society, initiated in our community in 1990, currently includes more than 110 of our community’s most generous philanthropists. Contributions range from $10,000 or more each year to the Million Dollar Roundtable. Tocqueville Society members are on the forefront of addressing the most critical social service needs in Broward County.
