How long has the Mission been thinking about building Hope Place?

0

In 2000 our Board of Directors began praying and talking about the direction of Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission and how we could respond to unmet needs in our community. During this time homeless women were the fastest growing segment of the homeless population and we were only able to help 1 out every 14 women who called for help. (Now the problem is worse; we are only able to help 1 out of 25 women who need our help.) Hope Place is the direction our Board of Directors chose to take because the need is so great.
