How long has the Alumni Directory been around? Who started it?

The Alumni Directory began with Victor Chang ’90’s small list of alumni from the classes of ’88, ’89, and ’90. He added more names in 1991 and then handed the responsibility of maintaining the list to David Radwin ’92. David managed the list of 84 alumni for a year or so. In the fall of 1993, a bunch of new e-mail addresses of recently graduated seniors needed to be added, so I volunteered to take over the project. The list started to get big and people wanted regular updates, so I wrote some software to e-mail everyone on the list a couple of times a year. The Alumni Directory went on-line in the spring of 1995, when I was able to publish my first web page. I modified my list-generation software to write out two HTML pages: alumni sorted by last name, and alumni sorted by graduating class. By the fall of 1995, we were up to 157 alumni (I started keep date information on 31-Oct-1995 when I added the “Recent Additions” page). The number of people started to grow in size pretty dramatica
