New York Community Bancorp, which was formerly known as Queens County Bancorp, Inc., converted to stock form on November 23, 1993, and initially traded on the NASDAQ National Market under the symbol “QCSB”. When the Company changed its name to New York Community Bancorp, it also changed its trading symbol, to “NYCB”. On December 20, 2002, the Company began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “NYB”.
