How long has Lumus been in development?
The Lumus Standard has been developed by industry and academic experts since 2001. It has been presented to various industries and organisations for input and testing and modified to incorporate necessary changes and enhancements. Lumus has taken a collaborative approach to building a national supply chain community. To this end, Lumus has, since 2002, created a national open forum of various private and public organisations that collaborate around maintaining the Lumus standard and enhancing the Lumus membership community. In this way each participating organisation forms part of a larger procurement community across multiple industry sectors, which also includes government organisations and development agencies. Within the context of the national open forum, Lumus ensures the maintenance of the assessment standard, train and monitor assessors and provide the IT platform from which to access the Lumus knowledge base and assessment tool.
