Kronos Products, Inc., was founded in 1975 by Chris Tomaras, a Chicago businessman, and began its operations with the manufacturing and sale of its patented Kronomatic broiler. Gyros sandwiches were then only served in a handful of restaurants in the United States. At that time, chefs made their own meat, each offering their own quality and taste.
