How long has DRYRIDE been used in Burton Outerwear?
We first started using it in fleece and first layer in 2008, but it officially launched with our 2009 Outerwear collections. There are a few different types right? What is the difference between Coated and Laminated? Yup, to put it simply “coated” means the functional element of the fabric was sprayed on to achieve a certain level of waterproofing/breathability, while “laminated” is actually an extruded sheet of PU that is specially formulated to be laminated to the face fabric through a heating process to provide the functional element. What do all the L’s mean? “L” is short hand for “Layer” The numbers referenced define the amount of layers of material used to build the fabric. 1L is usually just face fabric with no function or just topical treatments like DWR. 2L refers to fabrics with a functional coating or laminate. 2.5L is the same as above but with the addition of a print on the coating/laminate side. The print on a 2.5L piece actually raises the fabric slightly off of the wear
