The date by which the product should be eaten so that its organoleptic features remain intact is always indicated on Rio Mare tins and packets. It is best to consume tuna in olive oil within five years from the date of production, while tuna in brine should be eaten within 3 years. However, as regards health specifications the preservation time of the product in its container is indefinite.
