How long does the sponsorship last?
Signpost International’s aim is to help provide basic education for as many children as possible. In most of the countries where we work, our sponsorship scheme therefore finishes when a child graduates from high school. However in countries like Rwanda and Uganda, where we often work with orphans, we look at each case on an individual basis and sometimes sponsorship can continue while the child trains for the skills needed to provide them with a livelihood. In these special cases, the sponsor will be contacted and asked if they would like to carry on their sponsorship after high school graduation. However Signpost does not expect sponsors to pay for any additional education.
