How long does the review process take?
Applicants may submit a protocol for review at any time. However, please refer to the Calendar of Meeting Dates & Submission Deadlines. The full council review process typically requires a minimum of one month to complete, longer when modifications are necessary in order to meet the concerns of IRB reviewers. If a project qualifies for exempt status or expedited review and requires no modifications, the process normally takes 5 working days.
In most cases, the ad will be reviewed promptly and might be available online soon after all the guidelines are met and the ad is approved. The process will take longer if: • The ad or keyword list contains questionable words. • The advertised website is inaccessible. • The website contains unrelated or impermissible information. In these instances, the review could take as little as a few hours or as long as several business days. Ads with Pending status are active unless or until rejected.
JSV aims to achieve rapid publication, and the valuable contribution of referees to that goal is recognised. Return of reviews within six weeks is requested and appreciated. It is noted that, as circumstances dictate, some papers experience a longer review period. However, in the event of undue delay in the review process, the Editors may involve replacement referees.
