How long does the processing of an unfair practice charge take?
A. Each case is unique and therefore a specific time frame cannot be provided. However, some guidelines can be offered. Generally, a preliminary investigation of the charge is completed within 60-90 days of filing. Should a complaint issue, a settlement conference is scheduled within 30-60 days of Complaint issuance. Should a formal hearing be necessary, such a hearing is likely to take place within three months of the mediation session.
