How long does the pre-existing condition inquiry take?
The length of an inquiry depends on how quickly you and your doctors return all of the information about your medical history that we need to complete the review. If we do not receive all of the necessary information the first time around, we may need to send additional letters and this will take longer. We process all information we receive as fast as possible, but if you are in the midst of a pre-existing condition inquiry and want to know where you are in the process, please contact us at 800.707.8802. And you can help speed the process up: if we are still waiting to hear back from one or more of your doctors, you can contact your doctor directly to let them know that they need to provide us with a response. This often helps to speed up the process.
