How long does the effect of a vitamin B12 injection last?
Vitamin B12 is a water soluble type of vitamin and it is excreted in the body through the kidneys and the urinary tract. By experience with my animal patients, the effect normally wears off within 2-3 days. If severely ill, I administer B-complex injectables to my patients everyday. I have to consider the condition of the animal though, since most shots are given intramuscularly, it could do severe damage to muscle fibers if given repetitively.
