How long does the editorial process take?
The editorial process begins when you contact me with a description of your project and what kind of service you’re seeking. I then prepare an estimate and contract based our discussion. I generally ask to take a look at your work before providing an estimate so that the estimate can be as accurate as possible. Once an estimate is approved and a contract is signed, work begins. I update my project calendar regularly to give clients a realistic sense of project completion dates. On average, a novel-length work takes me about 3-4 weeks to edit, depending on the length and level of involvement. An estimated delivery date is included in the contract and estimate. Rush editing is also available. I generally define “rush” as any project that must be completed in under a week or over a holiday or weekend, but contact me to discuss your needs and we’ll find a schedule and budget that suits your goals.
