How long does the admission process take?
The Office for Recruiting and Admissions staff make it our priority to process applications as quickly as possible in order to get a decision to applicants in a timely manner. Applicants who submit a complete application will receive a faster decision than those who are missing required materials. It is recommended that applicants review the application checklist for a particular program to ensure that all required materials are submitted.
The admissions process typically takes a couple of months to complete. The Robinson College of Business (RCB) admissions office posts application deadlines, typically several months before a particular semester begins. The reality is they operate on a first-come, first-serve basis, and they get a large number of applications. If you want to start sooner, rather than later, the best advice is to get a complete application package in as soon as you can.
You will receive notice regarding your admission approximately four weeks after your official transcripts have been received at the Distance Learning Center and all other required materials received by the coordinator of the Criminal Justice program. Allow two weeks for all of your transcripts to arrive at UW-Platteville. It is your responsibility to request transcripts.
Each department has a Graduate Admissions Committee that decides whether a student will be accepted into their program. The frequency of committee meetings varies; contact your academic department for information regarding your application status. Refer to Steps to Admission for other processing times.
