How long does sky take to reply to an e-mail?
I doubt you will get a reply! I had the misfortune of dealing with them early this year, when you ring and get all the “press number one for..” bypass the customer services and hit the button for cancelling your subscription, they answer the phone straight away! I always do this and they fall over backwards to help you if they think you’re going to cancel.
You will not get a reply before Christmas. I used to work there. They will make you work to cancel your current package. I’d advise writing to them in addition to a phone call to notify them that you have sent a letter. Make clear in the letter that you are using your 28 day notice period and the direct debit will be cancelled via your bank 30 days from the letter being dated to ensure you are “ready” to set up the new one for the lower payment.. It is possible that Sky has improved it’s customer services since earlier this year, but from experience they will be concerned with new customers this time of year and will have little regard for those wishing to leave or reduce their packages..
