How long does postnatal bleeding last for after a C-Section Delivery?

0

I have had two cesareans with a vaginal birth in between, and my bleeding lasted just as long with the cesareans as it did with the vaginal birth. Every woman’s uteruses (uteri? Not sure of the plural version of that) contracts back down to size, but not all women will feel any or all of the contractions, breastfeeding or not (I also breastfed all of my babies and never experienced those cramps). I think that bleeding for five weeks post cesarean is completely normal, but be sure to mention it to your doctor at your checkup, and s/he can review your medical notes and determine if it needs to be examined moer closely and some intervention used. Even with the bleeding slacking off and then picking back up, that is not something unusual- I have had that happen with ALL of my postnatal bleeding, cesarean or not. Congratulations on your little one!
