How long does lower back pain last?
It can last a lifetime, unfortunately. As you age, your back will lose some of its flexibility. Sitting for long periods or in awkward positions can aggravate back problems, which is why most office workers suffer it to some degree at some point in their lives. Anyone who spends hours a day in front of a computer or lifting heavy objects is also susceptible. If your back pain is mild, take some aspirin and relax your back as much as possible by avoiding sitting or strenuous activities for a couple of days. To avoid back pain you should work on strengthening your abdominal muscles. There are numerous books with yoga and simple stretching exercises that will help. If the pain is persistent even after you have tried simple things to get rid of it, you can talk to a physical therapist who will give you exercise routines and has other tools to help alleviate your pain.
