How long does kennel cough last?
Kennel cough can last up to 10 days to three weeks and usually does not require a visit to the vet. When a dog is exposed to other dogs in a kennel situation or in a doggy park they can contract a kennel cough. You must remember kennel cough is contagious and the infected animal should be kept away from other dogs or cats until they recover. If your dog does not want to eat, has a runny nose with discolored discharge, or is hot to the touch then you definitely want to see a vet.
