put your kitty in the bathroom and only let him/her only out for play time and show affection even though he/she will cry your kitten will learn its boundaries do not let him/her continue to urinate or poop anywhere else most extremely important be patient and always keep the litter clean hope this helps

Maybe the house used to have a cat in it, and the cat pottied in different places in the house. A kitten should already know how to use the litter when you get it, although 7 weeks is a tiny bit young for him to be away from the mother. You will need to put more than one litter box around for him. Sometimes, when they are small, they forget where the litter is, and just need to go. If you have the boxes in places where he is sure to see them, then he may do a little better. Or you could allow him to be with the mother for another week or two. Another thing you could do, is to try taking the kitten outside with you and allow him to be in the grass or dirt. He may get more accustomed to the outside smells and get the idea. But, NEVER leave him outside by himself! He will be way to young for that, for a long time. If he is having diahhrea you should take him to the vet, because that could cause poor litter habits, and a kitten or cat can urinate outside the litter if they have a bladder i

They usually learn pretty quickly but a lot of young kittens simply can’t make it to the litter box or don’t think of it so they just go where ever they happen to be standing. What you need to do is set up multiple litter boxes all over. I’d recommend 3-4 litterboxes. Also you need to scoop them as often as you can. Otherwise the kitty will still be able to smell the mess and not want to use them. Finally (and this will sound weird) does your kitty play in the litterbox? A cat that plays in the litterbox likes the litter and will use it, if they don’t like the litter they will not use it. Trust me make sure the kitty likes the litter.
