How long does it take to treat Lyme disease?
Many doctors will only treat for 2-4 weeks. In my opinion this is not long enough. I recommend antibiotic treatment for at least 6 weeks if the infection is caught early. In late Lyme, the length of treatment varies greatly from one person to the next and has many weighing factors. For example, the length of time one has been infected, the presence of tick borne co-infections, if one has received steroids or immunosuppressants, the strength of their immune system and the presence of other health problems.
