How long does it take to register a birth in Ontario?

If you choose to use the fully electronic 4-in-1 Newborn Registration Service to register your baby’s birth, it will take approximately 6 to 8 weeks from the time you submit the birth registration to complete the process. If you choose to mail the paper version of the Statement of Live Birth form to the Office of the Registrar General (Government of Ontario), it may take approximately 4 months to complete the birth registration from the time your baby is born.
