How long does it take to recover from childbirth?
The standard answer for this is three years, that is if you are asking how long does it take for the body to resume natural productivity, maturation, body weight returning to normal menstrual cycles. If the question is actually how long is it till you are able to have sex after the birth of a child the answer is a lot sooner, since the reset of the sexual organs is about 3 to 6 weeks. The vaginas elasticity is very underrated due to the fact that it returns to normal in almost 2 weeks time. This however does NOT mean that it is a good idea, since the female body is highly prone to repeat pregnancy. Until the 6th week it is best advised that the use of protection is used to prevent repeat pregnancy.
My first child – ooooh, since I had an epidural, I pushed when I should not have so I tore BAD. I think it took me about 3 months til I felt close to human. My second child – TOTALLY natural – no tearing and back to normal within 4 weeks and felt great! My third child – TOTALLY natural – little tearing but back to normal (whatever that is) in about 3 months because I bled so long afterwards because I was on my feet too much My fourth child – due in about 3 weeks or earlier and I have a feeling it will be about 3 months because this baby is very large and I am now in my mid-30s and the older you are, the longer it takes to bounce back.
