How long does it take to recover from ACL reconstructive surgery?
Everyone is different in how long it takes. I was back to living life (walking around normally) in about 6 weeks. I worked on strengthening my knee and the upper thigh for 8 months pretty steady. Was able to play basketball with my kids after that. It’s not easy, but it was definitely worth it for me. I would recommend that you go to a physical therapist and receive instruction on how to build your knee back up. If cost is an issue explain that to them and have them show you what to do at home at the beginning, then what to add on later on. One of the best things I did was ride a bike uphill. Good luck!
