How long does it take to receive his first letter from boot camp?
My husband is in the Army, currently at Fort Benning. It took about 2 weeks for me to receive his first letter, but I got a couple short phone calls from him before that. You’ll usually hear from them in the first few days to know that they made it safely. They honestly don’t get a lot of time to write, but they will even write a short note if they get a few minutes of free time. Some places only let them write on certain days, but my husband can write whenever he has free time which is the hour before lights out. He doesn’t write every single day, but YOU can write him every single day and he will really appreciate that. I send my husband 1 letter and 1 card each day, so knock yourself out. Keep in mind that he will most likely have to do push ups or something of the sort to get his mail and the more mail he gets, the more work he has to do.
