How long does it take to process the PLUS loan application?

Once the Financial Aid Office receives the PLUS loan application it will take approximately 2-4 weeks to process the application. The application is then electronically forwarded to the Department of Education, (DOE). They will conduct a credit check on the application and notify CSU in approximately five (5) business days with a credit decision. If the loan is approved, the Financial Aid Office will send your parent an award letter and instructions.
