How long does it take to process a remission application?

0

Within 30 days of receipt of the application, the Navy or servicing finance office should transmit it the Remission and Waivers Branch. The standard goal is to process the claim within 60 days of receipt of a complete application. If the decision falls under Remissions and Waivers authority, then we will complete the case. If it does not fall under Remissions and Waivers’ authority to complete, the office will transmit the case to either the Secretary of the Navy or Commandant of the Marine Corps, as appropriate. Generally, the case is returned to us within 30 days. Once we receive the case back, final notification to the appropriate office and posting to your Master Military Pay Account is accomplished within 30 days.
