How long does it take to paint a helmet, start to finish?
When I started getting really good at it, I could bust out a helmet a day, but that’s working it like a production line; you’ve probably got ten helmets on the go at once and you’re doing paint on each one. If you’re doing big numbers, you almost have to turn it into a production line, otherwise you’ll be working on the same helmet forever and people will get mad at you (laughter). What’s the difference between a $300 paint job and a $1,000 paint job? Mostly detail. You could have a really cool $300 paint job; it just depends on what you want.
