How long does it take to obtain the ‘Hungarian Residence Permit’?
The Hungarian Residence Permit approval process will take 6 to 8 weeks. After you have applied for the ‘Residence Permit’, the Hungarian Embassy will forward your visa application and the supportive documents to the ‘Hungarian Immigration Police’ in Budapest. The visa approval decision will NOT be taken by the Hungarian Embassy, where you have submitted your visa application. If further documentation is required by the Hungarian Immigration Police, the visa approval process will take longer than 2 months. After reviewing the visa application and supportive documents, Hungarian Immigration Police will notify the visa review decision to Hungarian Embassy, where you have submitted the visa application. Then, the ‘Hungarian Embassy’ will contact you to inform the visa decision taken by the Hungarian Immigration Police.
